Well lets just say its a farming community in Upstate NY at last count predominantly Republican and has been for years. Its pretty real here, wages for the average man or woman are static, businesses going way south to Mexico or China. Not much room for a lack of reality when the bills come due. Good many people voted for Hillary last time out, she does a good serious job, and listens to us. No hysteria, just crops.
Not what you were looking for, but that's what it is.

Liberals live in a dream world. They think that everyone is basically good. They tend to think that government should provide sustenance, housing, medical care and anything else to the "poor". They don't understand that a lot of lazy people will take advantage to these programs.
They tend to think that crime is caused by economic or political conditions, not the purposeful actions of people. Change the conditions and you will eliminate crime, they believe. Or, they think that if you pay politicians huge salaries, they won't be as likely to take a bribe.
Liberals have a strange set of values when it comes to rights. They believe that a woman has the right to kill her unborn baby, since it is in her body, but they hold candle light vigils when a murderer is scheduled to be executed.
They believe that laws against sexual perversion are discriminatory towards certain groups, because they are unable to differentiate between the rights of people as a whole, and the desires of some people.
There is an expression that an ex-liberal is one who has been mugged. It is unfortunate, but sometimes it takes something like that to open their eyes to reality.

Liberals are a fringe group, much like the neo-cons are a fringe group of the GOP. Don't group all non-republicans with the liberal fringe. It's a logical fallacy which should be beneath any self-respecting political enthusiast; however well within the bounds of a simple polarizing politico-theocrats. Especially while wallowing in the post-election sour grapes.
