i have a waterfed pole window cleaning system that uses purified water to clean windows leaving them sparkling.Sometimes i wash my van with good results .i was wondering if i could go to a lay by and offer truck washing to lorry drivers. how much do they usually pay for truck cleaning, are truckers really bothered about having clean trucks. Will I only be washing owner drivers? If i gave reciepts would that help? What about if i provided a tea/coffee free with every truck wash? a Date with sally traffic (only joking)i live in the south east. anyone know of any good lay bys (popular with truckers) near Orpington/Croydon or anywhere near M25 A21 A20 Thank you for looking at my question i would appreciate any responses.

A couple of points to make:

Firstly, it is a criminal offence in the U.K. to discharge chemical waste (including industrial cleaning fluids) into a drain, open watercourse or ground water. If you attempt to carry out your suggestion, you face prosecution, I'm afraid.

Secondly, most county and local authority by-laws prohibit trading in lay-bys.

You would do better to offer an 'on-site' service to the haulage firms or truck stops in your area. Good luck!

i would have thought that this is a good idea, you would probably have to get permission from the local council and they will require all the relevant paperwork - insurance, health and safety/risk assessments etc. Wouldnt know what to charge though, you would have to work out how much it's costing you to wash them (detergents/water etc) not forgetting VAT, and come to a price. Free cuppa's are always welcome!
Good Luck!
