You need a wireless print server. this device connects wirelessly to your computer and it has a USB port that connects to your printer. this only works if you have a printer with a usb connection. configure your print server to talk to your laptop on the wireless. it is very simple, any print server that you buy, will come with a cd that allows you to configure the device following easy steps. print servers are not expensive. linksys is my favorite. that is one way, email for more details if needed.

If all you have is the Laptop (wirleless), Printer, and the Router, it will depend on your router.

Some routers have a connection for the printer, this is what you need. You have to have a connection between you and the printer, so this is either with a cable or wireless.

and the only way I know through wireless is to connect the printer to the router this way you have a connection to the router already and you can set the router up to allow printing.

If you have a standard dsl router like I have from verizon, its not capable of connecting a printer to it.

But I did have one before that hooked to a printer, so I know they exist.

Another option if you have an old pc desktop, you can connect the printer to this pc as you would if you were to use it and print from it, and then share the printer on a network.

Just some ideas
hope that helps

If you have
laptop with wireless capability good
if not you will need a wireless PCMCIA card

The set up
Where will your printer be in relation to your desktop and your laptop, will determine what you need to do this.

Of course laptop will be roaming aroudn the house, but your printer and your desktop....will they be close enough to the router to be hard wired?

If yes, then that will save you money on buying a wireless card for the desktop and gettinga wireless print server adapter should your particular printer not have one built in if the two devices will be close enough to connect with cable. (wireless usually costs more)

So, laptop needs wireless card
Desktop (if has a ethernet connection can hard wire into router)
Printer needs a printer server if you dont have one.
Go online for print server adapters as you will be paying for top dollar at any of the popular stores.

IF
you dont want to run cables
and your desktop and/or printer will not be in such a proximity to the router (it is a wireless router Im assuming)
then you will need a wireless pci card--or even a wireless usb adapter should you not want to go into the computer to install the wireless capability

then your printer will need a wireless print server thats going to cost you more than the wired print server.

So, thats it.
Hope it helps

again
Hope that router is a wireless router, otherwise you will need one that is wireless

First thing you will need is a wireless router and a laptop that is wireless. after thats setup, you can run the network setup wizard and set it up so that you share folders & printer. Network Setup Wizard is found in the Control Panel.
