I've uploaded an image to photobucket to use as a background image. But when view the web page.. The image seems to be much larger than the image posted to photobucket.. Anyone tell me how to make the image smaller on my web page? There is nothing in the coding stating how many pixels the image is, so I can't change it there. (I am using Dreamwaever 8)

When coding in any of the “what you see is what you get” web design suites such as dream weaver there is always a way to view the html source. You could modify any of the code you wish after the page has been output.

To size a image in raw html the code structure is

height="75">

If you were to find the proper string in your page you could just replace the appropriate code.. since the software did the coding for you this might be more confusing than anything. If you learn to code the pages yourself you would know right where to look..

There are a couple of ways that you could do it, assuming that you were coding in raw HTML or CSS, but with Dreamweaver, I'm not sure, never having used that software. However, it stands to reason that Dreamweaver would have a lot of documentation that should be able to tell you how to manipulate backgrounds and etc.

look out for your dpi (dots per inch) for the image resolution - could be what is firing out two different results.

if it's a background image - have you got image repeat on? are you using style sheets? not enough information on how you are creating the background image.
