He can only make your job miserable if he doesn't get fired. If he's a thief then he shouldn't last long.

If he leaves owing you money, how do you get your register to balance? That shortage is going to show up every time.
If he is covering it later, than I wouldn't bother. Like you said, he can make your life miserable.
However, if he is shorting your register:
Go higher than loss prevention.
Write a letter to the president of the company.
Give specific dates and times.
Stealing in retail is almost always grounds for immediate dismissal.

I agree, that is very wrong and I feel you should report it. If they find out he is doing it, they will surely find out from what registers also, people tend to tattle when their jobs are on the line. You need to report this as soon as possible. You need your job. They will keep it private and who knows, maybe they have had complaints about him in the past and you telling them this will get him fired.

I know how you fell I think if it's under adollar i'd let it slide and confront tne manager about it. If it persist and you can get aregular customer to witness more than once then with enough evidence i would then go to loss prevention good luck

If it is a coorparation there should be an 800 number otherwise let the regional manager aware of the situation if it bothers you.

So how have you explained your register being short? That should have done it for you right there. It gave you an opportunity to tell on him then. I turn the jerk in!

Report him, he's not above the law. He's the one in the wrong. You would be doing your job by reporting him.
