Making me pick just one would be a crime. They're all great. I guess some of them are "Go Tell It On The Mountain" "We Three Kings", "It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year", "'Zat You Santa Claus?", "Cool Yule", "What Child Is This?", "Baby It's Cold Outside", "O Holy Night", "The Christmas Song", "God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman"...they're all good!
Are those Shakira's eyes?

The Little Drummer Boy.
When I was a child in Toronto there used to be a great competition between T.Eaton's and Simpson's for Christmas on the corner of Yonge and Queen Street. In 1958 we were living at Queen and Landsdowne when my mother had to go to Simpson's for a package that had been delivered there. She took me along. At four years old everything was magical, the streetcar, the traffic in the snow, and the competition of window dressing between Simpson's and Eaton's was an incredible sight to see! It was mesmerizing. My mother took me into Simpson's and on the first floor we went to a salesclerk whom my mother conferred with and the saleslady took my mother to a staircase leading to a door in the basement. It was a huge and long staircase downward, it was bare walled and foreboding to a wee four year old. The saleslady and my mother left me at the top of the stairs and went down, down, down into this steep bare stairwell with only one door at the bottom, and they disappeared. I wasn't afraid, I was afraid for my mommy! She went into a scary place and was she going to come back?! I waited...
Over the intercom Christmas music was playing and the whole time my mother was away "the little drummer boy" was playing so wonderfully that all fear for mommy and me dissipated, the wonderous music captured me and gave me a sense of awe with beauty. The world went around and around the people buzzed about, dollar bills were exchanged here and there for Christmas gifts. The decorations glittered and shined all over the mechanical angels moved ever so elegantly and the skaters on the made up pond went into curves of eights over and over.
The song held me spell bound. The song moved me to sway. The song caught me and held me until my mother came back with a package and smiles, the song is still with me and it will always give that sense of enduring awe.
That's my favorite Christmas carol and it has been for almost five decades.

As a child I always loved Away in a manger because my mom would always sing me to sleep with that around the holidays. My favorite now is Grown Up Christmas Wish.
