Ok - you need to tell us if they're pleasant and welcomed or unpleasant and something the person wants to get rid of. Will help coming up witha suitable simile.

Then how about:

These are the scenes constantly replaying in my head - like the first act in some awful theatre with the players repeating their lines to a horrified crowd and laughing time refusing to move on.
