There have been studies I have read about that some men have a majority of one sex's sperm. My friends doc told her this was the case, she has 4 boys as well. Luckily you only have about a month until an ultrasound can tell you. I don't think you are selfish for wanting a girl. Of course you are going to love a boy just as much, but after all the rough housing and testosterone in your house it is completely understandable that you would want to finally put some pink and dresses on a baby. My friend says she just wants to know what its like to be mother of the bride and help her get ready for prom and just be able to have a mother daghter bond. I am sure you will be happy either way and I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

It's natural to want a little girl: you're completely outnumbered at the moment! Just keep in mind that your natural inclination is right on. A healthy baby is the desired outcome, no matter the gender. I don't know what the odds are, boy vs. girl (I would assume it's a 50/50 shot, no matter how many pregnancies you've had).
And don't worry about being selfish. You have enough to do with 4 boys in the house! I'm impressed that you have time to think, let alone worry! If you want a girl, hope for a girl. If it turns out to be a girl, great! If it turns out to be a boy, great!
Congratulations, and good luck--

Its not selfish, I am 5 weeks pregnant with my third baby and I have two wonderful baby girls. I want a boy so bad I cant stand it. You have 4 boys, of course you would want at least a boy and girl. It could happen. All I want is a healthy baby too, but it would be so wonderful to have a boy on the way. My pregnancy is so different too. I have no morgning sickness, energy, I feel great! With my other two, From the day they were made, I was sick, for nine months. Keep our fingers crossed. good luck to you and your baby.

Good luck in getting your baby girl! I have an 8 year old son. I now am engaged to a man that has three boys. 4 boys for us, we wanted a girl very badly, just like you. I now have a beautiful 7 month old baby girl. With my first pregnancy I had no morning sickness, nothing. When I was pregnant with my daughter I had morning sickness really bad, bad acne, and several other things. A faster heartbeat, her heart beat ran between 150 and 160 the entire pregnancy. I even had pre-eclampsia with my daughter. Good luck in your pregnancy. No I don't think you are being selfish. You just want your baby girl LOL.

Your chances of having a girl are 50/50, same as your chances of having a boy.
You're not selfish for setting your heart on something, as long as you're prepared for it to go the other way and DON'T take it out on that child. I'm not assuming you would, b/c you have said that most important is that the baby is healthy!
Every woman is different, and each pregnancy for every woman can be different. Try not to read too much into your feelings and dreams and try to be patient and wait for your 20-week ultrasound (I know it's hard to be patient while pregnant, especially when it's got to do w/ the baby!).

I don't blame you! you're totally outnumbered at your house!!! I would want a girl too. I've heard that the more times you have boys (or girls) the less likely you'll be to have the other sex the next time. But that being said, I have a friend with 3 boys and 1 girl, so it's possible! as for the heartbeat, the old wives tale says that the faster the heart rate, the better chance it's a girl. So anything over about 140 is more likely to be a girl. My girl was at 165 BPM. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

There's a 50% chance it could be a girl. And that's really all there is to it. My fiances mom had 4 boys, and she wanted a little girl to badly. So when I found out I was having a girl, she was thrilled, and so was I. Although my fiance wanted a boy, he was happy anyway.j I think the reality is that we all have a hope for the gender, and you, who already has 4 boys, of course would like a girl. You're not being selfish, it's totally normal.

First off congrats on the pregnancy, I am also pregnant and this is my second pregnancy and thrid boy...twin boys the first go round and another boy this time. I say there is a great chance you will probably have another boy but just think of it this way at least there will be less stuff you have to buy, thats the way I thought of it too, I already have enough little boys stuff I dont need to go and buy a whole lot. Good Luck!

I felt the way you do about my last pregnancy. I was lucky - I had a boy and a girl, but I really wanted another boy. I felt so selfish about it. I even cried when we got the ultrasound saying it was a girl. I was really disappointed, but after I saw that little face, it didn't matter any more. I love this little girl just as much as the other two. (I felt different every time I was pregnant, so that didn't work for me, but the heartbeats of the girls WERE higher than the boy - he was always 130s, and they were 150s) GOOD LUCK!

It's not selfish to want a baby girl but there's no way to know for a few more weeks if the baby cooperates. As for the pregnancy being different that doesn't necessarily mean it isn't another boy. My husband's cousin has three boys and all her pregnancies were different. Good luck.
