Mostly genetic, but environment is important to make sure the brain remains stimuated

Both are acceptable. Let me give an example to that Here's the genetic part: If you're born as a moron, even if you hire the best teachers in the world and your parents give you everything for you to learn, you'll still be a moron for the rest of your life.

Here's the environment part: Your born a moron, but when your mother gave birth to you, you have not attained the highest peak of being a moron. So, you need teachers, books, or basically people who will teach you about things. But that does not mean that after you have been taught you'll be able to go to the wizard level.

What your asking is the Nature/Nurture Controversy which has been going for several or hundred years now.

Actually it is both. A person is born with genes which hold their potential. But if the person grows up in a bad environment (unstimulating, no opportunities for learning, parents who don't care etc) then the person will not reach their potential.
But whenever a person is raisied in a stimulating environment, where the parents take an active interest and do all they can to promote learning, and teach through daily activities, the person will reach their genetic potential.
So, providing a stimulating and enriching environment for your child is the best thing you can do.

There are arguments for both sides. Some kids do come from intelligent parents and they become intelligent themselves, but also, you can live in the best environment by society's standards and have access to the best schools and also be intelligent. But just because you live in a low-income neighborhood, your environment can also give you the drive and motivation to get our education to move out to better living conditions and a better life. That scenario doesnt matter whether what the intelligence level of your parents is, it is you doing what you have to in order to better yourself.

You will find smart people in all walks of life.

<----- Both Parents are complete idiots but for very different reasons...

My father because he was an illiterate, ignorant, agressive, evil, son of a beeatch...

and my mother (an otherwise highly intelligent woman) for not having the intelligence to leave him (or never blend in with that mess of a gene pool to begin with.) You simply should know better than to involve innocent children in certain unions!

I taught myself every single little thing I know... With the exception of a few valuable, but lame axioms they collectively taught me... usually having something to do with loss, pain and depression... They always taught by example!

Therefore... Im with the guy above me... I agree wholeheartedly!

a superb variety of scientists have debated the undertaking for a protracted time, and the final consensus is that that's rather plenty equivalent factors of the two. i in my view stay interior the opinion of nurture- if for something, because of the fact it quite is a minimum of actually in our understanding and administration. yet regardless of.
