Currently I have dial up. Which do you think is faster and/or better?

This depends entirely on where you live. There are some areas that offer cable but the service is slow... and other areas that offer cable and it is 2-5x faster than the fastest DSL possible. Further, you have to live within 3.5-4 miles of a CO (telephone company office where the DSL line originates). The farther you are, the slower your maximum speed will be. Generally, its 20,000 feet MAX to the CO - and that doesn't mean line of sight - it all depends on the route the phone line has to take from the CO office to your home. Cable doesn't have these restrictions.
I would strongly recommend you look up your available providers at http://www.broadbandreports.com and see what others in your area have and have to say about the service.

I have had both DSL and Cable and I prefer cable. The speeds were almost identical, and my cable needs to be reset a little more often, but I think the cable is a smoother connection, as in, there is no hang up time like there is with DSL. Also with DSL, depending on how close you live to the main hub and how many people are subscribed will effect your service. This is not an issue with cable.

Depends on where you live. Around Cinci, DSL is about half the sheer download speed, but FAR more reliable and latency is a bit lower (good for online games.) Also, cheaper, you get free Wifi access about anywhere in the city, and their rules for servers are more lax. My IP hasn't changed since I've had it. DSL = much better value.
Of course, that's just my personal experience with cincinnati. Do some googling around your area.

I think DSL is better Cable it depends it can be faster some days and slower other days

DSL is much faster than the Cable internet Or the dialup.
but it costs u more than cablenet or dialup.

dsl definitely. dial-up is annoying. dsl is way faster than dial-up.i had dial-up for 6 months and it got on my nerves!!!!! dsl really makes a difference. you should try dsl and compare the service.

my att dssl costs twice as little as cmcats and twice as fast. depends where u live
