Very interesting question and it got me thinking, and analysing myself. :)

I think, i agree with some of the girls here, when they say that they often think and plan about the future. I do that often too. Im at a crossroad in my life. And cant help but thinking and plotting what to do next. From time to time I do get to let go and just be, just rest and just feel what i feel right now. And i think in that sense im freer than many many others that i see around me. The choices that i madeand make in my life is constantly an effort to balance that: to live in the present and also to try not forsaking my future.

My family dont quite get that. Being Asian living in Asia, parents mostly want the kids to think abt the future, work where we get big incomes, have husband and 3.5 kids, have a nice home. have it all. and i see how my friends gets so busy earning for tomorrow, which is ok for them but not what i want for myself. so, it is not only for myself that i have to consider present, past and future, it is also tiring having to justify and defend the choices to my loved ones. im still holding on, trying to make them see that my way of living is different but im happy in that. and inside, still having that kind of challenge with myself too.

personally i find it much easier to live in the present than to constantly be looking forward to the future or backwards into the past. I've tried to live my life always just in the now. I figure if i'm always looking back at the past, i will never move forward, so i dont hold grudges or regret anything, as it will only hinder my progress. Also, as far as the past goes, it is spilled milk. I can't sit and worry about how to not spill it, as it's already all over the ground. And even in a world where everything has to be planned in advance so that everyone is forced to look ahead into the future and worry about what is going to happen, I try to make the plans and then just wait until they come to me. I stay in the present, making sure to make the moment today worthwhile. I dont know if this is me subconsciously preparing for the future, but i refuse to worry about things that havent happened yet. I can always change it.

Oh, it's extremely difficult for me! I doubt I live in the present more than 2% of the time. Maybe I should take up yoga.

It's very difficult for me to live in the present. I have to do it consciously as I am always afraid that what has happened in the past will repeat itself. My biggest "dilemma" right now is trying to get it through my head that my fiance loves me and will not leave like my ex did. I try extremely hard to just enjoy every minute with him without projecting my ex's behavior to me into our life together.

I take each day as it comes so yes I live in the present, everynight I think about the day that is just coming to a close and express my gratitude, today's gratitude buys tomorrow's happiness.
