i would definitly recomend one. we got one for our son when he was about that age and he loved. I think it helped him sit up on his own earlier.

One of my children liked the seat more than the other. And as with all children's toys/items, you never know what a particular child will like; I've known some babies who love the Bumbo, and others who absolutely hate it. I recommend borrowing a friend's Bumbo, if you can, to see if your child would like it before you go out and spend the money. For the amount of time you'll likely use it, a Bumbo is not cheap.

I have a Bebe Pod (similar to a Bumbo) and my daughter is 4 1/2 months old and I love it. She still needs support in the seat. It works better when you wrap a towel or blanket around her to make it more snug. I think she will do better in it in another month or so. It will be great to use when my daughter starts eating solid foods.

FYI, you can get a Bebe Pod at Wal-Mart for $35.

Bumbo 's r great.I saw that and was about to bought that. But u will need them only for 1 month. Then it will be over. They look really nice and i thought thats the best thg for my 6 month old baby. But u need to be with ur baby. Then thinking abt long term,i decided to buy the high chair. And i found i took the right decision.
My daughter is 8 months old now.And the high chair is stil giving us the very good service.

We got one and our daughter liked it although it seemed to be more of a "child containment unit" than a chair. She would climb into it to sit and then couldn't get out.

Perhaps if you wanted to use it for feedings or outdoors where you need another set of hands to hold your child still it could be useful. We left ours out as "her chair" and she just got frustrated with it.

Once your child learns to walk, the Bumbo may become frustrating. Although for few months it seemed like a good idea.

Other parents swear by them and they DO look very comfortable

Are you talking about the lightweight foam formed soft seat with a foam piece between the legs to keep them there, that you can set anywhere that helps them set up? If so, yes, I have one but they called it a bambino seat, probably the same thing. I love it and so does my daughter. This way she can set on the counter while I am cooking, doing dishes, she can set on the floor to play with the dogs or her older brother to play ball. She sets on the bathroom counter while I am getting ready in the morning etc, etc.... It was well worth the $24.00 I spent for it and it is giving her a little independence as well as teaching her to hold herself upright and getting off her back from the bouncy seat. ( the plus is it gets you to have 2 hands free but still have her right next to you. =) Because we all know the older they are the heavier they are and the harder it is to do things while holding on to them.... Better safety also, I think...

I love mine! My son sits in his all the time. I put him in his bumbo seat when I take a shower and he sits in it and "reads" me books.

They are great! My son used to it in for breakfast, lunch & dinner and I plan to do the same with my daughter who is 14 weeks.
My son is a tall, skinny 20 month old toddler and he still sits in it sometimes to watch Bob the Builder and Noddy!!

We tried it with our son when he was 4 months, and let me tell you he almost managed to push himself out within 10 minutes.

I suppose it depends on the baby. If your child is anything like ours (determined, strong willed) then chances are it's not going to be suitable.
