its really not a big deal to talk to your mom about this kinda stuff, remember, she deals with the same thing. and she will probably be the one buying them anyways.

tampons go inside you, there are some with applicators, some that you just push inside with your finger. its just cotton that expands and will absorbe the blood. a pad you just stick to your underware and it absorbes the blood there (a little messier but easier for younger people who are a little afraid of the tampon). both need to be changed regularly or else you will start leaking thru your pants and that isnt fun at all (happened to me in 7th grade)

Tampons are inserted inside the vagina and pads are worn on the outside of your body attached to your under ware. You can wear a tampon in the pool and stuff like that where you could not wear a pad. But check and use the right size for you.

Tampons are inserted where as pads are more or less taped to your underwear. The advantage of tampons are that you don't have the feeling of something stuck between your legs and you can wear more close fit clothing, jeans, shorts, etc., without it being noticed that you are on your period. Pads are clunky but more absorbent but when you change them you have to see what the whole thing is about which really isn't a pleasant thing to see. If you do decide to use a tamponade you need to always remember that it is inside you. I forgot once, had sex, and had a hell of a time getting it out of there. Good Luck to you with your womanhood and all!

Tampons go on the inside and pads stay on the outside.

I know how you feel. It's wierd for me to talk to my mom about these things too. A tampon is basically like a tightly rolled tissue that goes into your vagina. A pad lines your underwear to catch the blood that you lose.

Very simple. You insert a tampon into your vagina and with pads, you attach them to your underwear.

Maybe you should be talking to your mother or another adult female in your house about this.

Are you serious? Tampons are inserted into your body and the mensues is absorbed. They are more descreet than pads, worn out side you body where the mensues is collected and can leak or become unfomfortable.

WOW...tampons you insert into your vagina to stop the blood and pads you put on the inside of your underwear.
