I answered a question earlier about Terrorism and it got me thinking. If America is one of the most violent places in the world with alot of problems with its gangs, murder rates and guns, how can they even try to sort out the rest of the worlds problems. Washington DC has a murder rate of 42 per 100,000 and London only has 2. 85% of the Worlds serial killers live in America. A shocking 37 million Americans live in poverty. That is 12.7 per cent of the population - the highest percentage in the developed world. Whilst Bush has been president 5.4 million have become poverty stricken.
Weapons of mass destruction is another thing that annoys me. How many wmd do Britain and America have. How can they tell the rest of the World they can't have them?
Bush is a mumbling idiot who can't even talk properly whilst making a speach.
Other countries have evil dictators, why do we not sort them out?

my point is...again..why do they get away with everything. I did ask a question too- Why can we have wmd but then tell everyone else they can't. I'm not anti american just anti Bush and Blair for that matter.

Isn't the point of asking a question to find out answers? Instead of wasting an answer by saying I know very little about it answer the question. I don't think some black people living in a shack would say their poverty is better than the rest of the worlds poverty. POVERTY IS POVERTY

maddog made a good point and I can accept that, I'm not into people having a go at me for asking a question because I want to know an answer.

Mugabe has been head of the Zimbabwean government since 1980 and nothing has been done to get rid of him.In the 1980s alone, in one region of Zimbabwe , Matabeleland , Mugabe's Fifth Brigade massacred an estimated 20,000 people – a massacre more than 250 times greater than the notorious apartheid massacre at Sharpeville. People should stop beleiving that the war in Iraq is about liberating the poor oppressed Iraqi's. They don't even want us there.

Why does the word Bushisms exsist?Because he can not even pronounce half the words he says in his speaches. He does mumble and he does stutter. I think if anybody was the son of a president they would have a top notch education. I hope he does have some kind of academic qualification to be president or I would be worried. Crime rates in the US are shocking and you are refusing to see your countries own faults. But the Home Office has hit back at the statistics, claiming that the average American is seven times more likely to be murdered than their British counterpart and 60 times more likely to be shot.

You even refuse to acknowledge the fact that people ridecule him for the way he speaks.

Yes America did help a great deal in WWII. But that was a long time ago and you can't say 'we can do whatever we want because we helped you guys out in WWII' I wonder what would of happened in ww2 if Bush was in charge anyway. About wmd being in the hands of irresponsible people- how many British soldiers have been killed by friendly fire and foolish us mistakes? I don't think killing innocent Iraqi's was the act of responsible people anyway.

In my view the US Americans should stay at home and sort out their own problems before they drag the whole world into chaos.
being the world "police" is just another expression for being the dominating empire which crushes everything and everybody standing in its way.
I hope the old saying is true, that arrogance comes before the fall.

As Reagan said, "If not America, who"? Of course the real issue is Someone Must stand up for the people of the world who are suppressed, murdered, and tortured by ruthless Regimes. BUT, as you know, America is broke. So, when we spend millions to defend others, we are actually spending borrowed money which, in the long run, (well, I guess, not that long into the future ) will bring this country to its knees. But, who IS to defend the right of freedom? Is there any other country out there? And if you do find one, what are their motives? Have we gotten to the point where we, the world, should simply say, Oh Well, what ever happens, happens? Some will say the answer is the U.N. That seems kinda ridiculous as that organization has shown it self, over and over again, to be of little value and action. So, one again I ask, If we fail to at least attempt to help police the world, who will?

Well yes, but...

You're assuming of course that logic and virtue makes the world go round, which has never been the case. Hypocrisy in American policy? Yes. Any more hypocritical than the colonial policies or other policies of the British or French or other European empires of the last 500 years? No. More hypocritical than the policies of other empires throughout history? Again, no.

There never has been a perfectly just society. My guess is that the trend will continue. Unfortunately the powerful do what they will and everyone else has to play along - including many regular, dissenting Americans.

Here is some facts for you and some of your fellow whiners if there was no USA Europe would be living under tyranny of the Germans they could not defeat them without the US. Asia would be living under the tyranny of the Japanese we were the only one capable of defeating them. We are the only superpower in the history of the world where the peoples we have defeated actually ended up with a democracy and their standard of living went up no other nation in history can make that claim for those who will give thumbs down please state where my facts are incorrect. As for WMD you do not want countries that are irresponsible to have them, the same logic you would not want a child molester teaching in our schools it just not a good idea.

You have a semi-valid point. But here's one way to solve our problems ... here at home in the U.S. I believe that we should get out of a lot of the world's business, especially the countries who openly profess to hate us ... but at the same time, we need to close the check book to those same countries. If they really want us gone, we need to go, taking our money with us. Think of how far the billions and billions of dollars wasted in foreign aid, in countries that hate us, would go right here in the U.S.? The financial benefits are limitless! That will never happen, and that's part of the reason we have a say in some of those same countries ... our money buys us that right! You can't have it both ways!!

Your understanding of these issues is very cursory and incomplete at best. Amazing how you can comment on matters that you know little or nothing about.

______

It would take me hours to adequately respond to the several HUGE issues you have brought up, but let me clarify somewhat:

1. Under Bush the economy has IMPROVED GREATLY despite 9/11 which sent our economy to the toilet along with several corporate scandals. Unemployment here is 4.4%. Most of Europe is closer to TEN percent.

2. The crime rate in the UK, since the institution of gun control, has SKY ROCKETED. D.C. has perhaps the most strict gun control in all of America. Almost without exception, places in America (and the UK and Canada, and Australia) that have strict gun control have higher crime rates as well.

3. America and Britain are not threatening anyone with their WMD whereas Iraq (and Iran) was.

4. Bush earned degrees from Harvard and Yale, arguably the two best universities on the planet. Meanwhile, YOU discuss things that you clearly have not read abou, but Bush is a "mumbling idiot"?

Yes we Americans are a violent race. And with that said we have been used as the worlds police for countless years. It all started with the first world war and has not let up since. As for the part of other countries with evil dictators, well we have theose WMD's and so do they. No one is going to start that line of crap going.
Not even our mumbling idiot as you so candidly pointed out.

Define poverty! You mean the same people I see at our local welfare office driving Escalades and Yukons, walking in $200 tennis shoes? Poverty in the US is not like poverty anywhere else in the world. Travel some!
