the short answer is no it is not dead, two people can commit and stay committed for a life time, the problem is options! Back in the day people got married and stayed married for better or for worst, now days you can get a divorce in a few weeks for just a few dollars. We as people in 2006 are overloaded with options, on line chat, swinger groups, married but looking web sites, plus the TV screams upgrade at us hours on end. then you have the blue pill, plus a few others. You have HBO bunny ranch, you have talk shows telling people what to think, there are so many opitions outthere that people fail to see what a gem they have in their S/O that is the problem. Back in the day you stuck out the hard times, i feel those days are long gone.

I wouldn't say it's dead as much as people are questioning it a LOT more! We all been pretty much raised to find that one person who will make us happy for life. Then we start thinking for ourselves an find out this is not always the case.

I'm married and monogamous, but I have a saying. Monogamy is like college: it's not for everyone.

Seems that monogamy is only "dead" for men. Or, at least they're TRYING to kill it.

Absolutely not!!! There is no better way to have a lasting relationship.

I know -- I've been married to my guy for 37 years and we're still best friends and happy.

You've just got to find someone who feels the same way about faithfulness as you do.

Monogamy was never alive, religion forced ppl to stay that way, the human nature has always been polyamorous.

No its not dead actually. Studies have shown that it is healthier to wait until marriage or at least to be with one person in your whole life. go to www.pamstenzel.com there is a little information on there. Oh and Monoagmy means one person not one person at a time!!!

No, it is very much alive. Most couples are monogamous. Those on the fringe have the right to not be, in my opinion, but the vast majority of couples are monogomous.

Oh no....and don't let anybody tell you that it is.

You'll find it in people who want the honesty and closeness of a one-on-one relationship.

You won't get it in people who just want to have a good time with as many people as possible.
