went to the dr and he said she's fine her body is just in growth spurt overdrive trying to get all the nutrients out of the formula, blue poo from possible bile, but not toxic to her. changed her formula to lactose free to get her constant gas pain to go away.

Blue? Green I would say yes it's normal, but blue is new to me. Could she have gotten ahold of a blue crayon or something like that?

A newborns tummy cannot process foods yet, so they may have liquid poop all the time! The blue color is most likely from something in the formula, but you should still ask your doctor. Keep in mind, breastmilk is Always best because it contains Everything your baby needs to develop properly. In addition, it passes on all of your immunities to your baby, so they won't get sick half as often when they start school as formula fed children. Ever tried using a pump when you can't be there to breastfeed? The poop will also be a lot less smelly!

Is your baby on any of the Carnation formulas? If she is, then that is totally normal. I used that for awhile with my youngest. It turned his poo shades of blue and gray. It has to with the way that the milk protiens are broken down in the formula. I talked with the nurse staff that the formula company has on staff to answer questions like that....we spent about an hour on the phone. Do not worry everyting is ok!

Hi, Lg
Call a local WIC Clinic, WIC stands for Women, Infant and Children ask to speak with a Nutritionist, ask the Nutritionist why your babies Poop is blue, maybe they can help figure out why.
Good luck

my babies used to poop in all colors of the rainbow. i guess it really depends on what she has to eat. formula does re-act in different ways in different babies. if she is healthy, no concern. if you are freakin out and it really scares you, you are the best judge, call your Dr.

Are you breastfeeding? My son would sometimes poop "blueish" "greenish" poopy. I guess it was just what I was eating the night before. But if you dont breastfeed...i would call the dr.

I think you should call or take her to her doctor a.s.a.p. She might be allergic to something or there is something in her system.
