How about some sort of a spa visit? Depending on your budget, she could be there for an hour or several hours.

A gift that keeps on giving--Magazines are always very practical and personal. Yearly subscriptions are way cheaper then buying them each month. The link below you can save up to 85% off the per issue price. After she has finished reading the current issue of the magazine, she can pass it on to a friend or doctor's office waiting room. What is your mother special Internet? Does she have any special hobbies that request materials that are hard to find? Does she have a collection of something? Is she involved with doing volunteer work? You can always give her a certificate that shows that you are willing to help her with her special interest. Staples, Office Club, stationary store, they have blank certificates that you can fill in the message.

Books make really great gifts. Also-if she is a tea or coffee drinker, you could get her a coffee or tea basket from your local coffeehouse. It's something she will use anyway. Same goes with lotions from Bath and Body Works or Crabtree and Evelyn. If you live in a cold weather place, you get get her a nice pair of gloves or scarf. If you want something that is different, you could get her nice stationary from Crane's (at Papyrus or stationary store) or go to snapfish.com and order a deck of cards with your picture on it! One last idea...get a digital photo frame - they vary in prices - you can get one everywhere from Best Buy to Sharper Image - and load it up with pictures. My brothers and I did this for my mom's 60th - something traditional, but new and technical and personal at the same time!

First think of something she likes -
them make a basket of that -- say she likes coffee get a bunch of different flavors in the tiny bags ( Wal-mart sells them )
some creamers a coffee cup or 2
put everything in the basket put a bow on it.
Movies and big boxes of candy ( like you get at the movies) and some popcorn.
Garden tools and seed,bulbs, gloves
scrapbook paper, stickers, markers, stuff that goes with it.
just pick something she likes and get a bunch of stuff to go with it -- put it all in a basket ,put a bow on it and call it good - people love them
