Try a scrapbook. You can make a scrap book all about your mom. I usually type up all the info I want put in a scarp book and go from there. It doesn't have to be a big book. Use pictures of her and pictures of places you have been with her and quotes that you want to say...... world's best mom or love is .... having a mom like you...... that sort of thing! You can do searches on line to see page layouts...... If that seems like too much work for a short time make a shadow box with specials items that make you think of your mother and remember WORDS WORDS WORDS of exactly how you feel.

I would make a scrapbook. Title it to The Best Mom in the World. Add pictures and sentimental poems, and write personal message from you to her.
There are many ideas all over the net to help you plan and make your scrapbook.
A mother's heart is a special place where children always have a home.

Are you into scrapbooking???? If you are, there are many many things you can do.
For Mother's Day this last year, I bought an 8X8 album and made a scrapbook of my daughter's first year primarily doing events where it involved her with my daughter. It was awesome.
Or...you could by a frame (like a 12X12 scrapbook frame...or any size frame, really)..make a page according to size and frame it. Those are also great gifts...very personalized....very sentimental.

I have done two things for my mom. I had my son and daughters hand and a foot made into a mold and I put them in a little shadow box with their pictures in it. (This is when they are little tiny things) so she will always remember how tiny they were. I also wrote out a cute little poem about making messes on the walls with paint and stuff and how kids will grow and paint will fade. But little memories won't. Then I put their hand prints in paint on a paper and added the poem. (This is when they are running around and bigger and actually making the messes.) Good luck. Your mom will love anything you give her, your time especially.

You could make something like a ceramic mug, or Christmas ornament with pictures at places like www.snapfish.com, www.cafepress.com. I think a mug with a picture of you and your baby on one side, and a picture of her with you when you were a baby on the other would be special. All sorts of thing you could do...
You would need to scan the photos (I think you can do that at Kinkos if you don't have a scanner)--make sure to put the resolution at 200 to 300 DPI. If you needed something to edit the photos or wanted to put text on it, there is a free program called the Gimp you can do that with. (You can find it on google...make sure to get the version for your operating system: Mac, Windows, or Linux.)

A scrap book with all of your accomplishments from child hood to adult hood , with poems in side or thank yous to show your greatful for her, but most important to let her know she did not fail you...parents spend there lives hoping they did the best for you, reassure her she did it right...

Give her a framed picture of you and your new baby! She'll like it better than a sweater. You don't need to spend alot either.
