I use AVG anti-virus and it has worked very well. However, over the last month I have detected 4 viruses and put them in the virus vault. The heal doesnt work..how do I get rid of these viruses? I use AVG anti-virus,ZoneAlarm,CCleaner,and Spybot search and destroy. The Name of the virus...is 2_z[1].htm and 2_z[2].htm I have tried healing, but it doesnt work. I dont want to mess up..it says that the virus doesnt harm my computer while in the vault, but that I should remove it. Do I have to get a trojan remover or what? If you know how..please explain step by step if you dont mind. Thanks a bundle.

Hi Hudge,

XP might be the issue.

AVG is a great antivirus and AVG is not the issue in your case.

If your Restore feature is turn on each time you are rebooting your PC XP restore previous files & sometimes infected files.

For best results my friend go to :
Control Panel> System>System restore>and turn off that feature.

Scan again for virus with AVG reboot.

They all should be gone.

If you have more issues don't hesitate to email me.

Good luck,

Joe.

problem is you are using AVG and its famous for not catching all the viruses. If you want to stick with something free go to www.avast.com and download for free their home version. Its a much better virus solution and works much better.

I don't know anything about AVG, but isn't there anyway to show their physical path? try removing them manually.

Anyway, try TrendMicro' HouseCall online scan, it's great
