To get good in ASP, you need to know alittle VB 6.0 (or even the old version of basic can be enough). JScript knowledge is a plus!!!
To get good in ASP.NET, you need to know enough about C# or VB.NET!!!

ASP.NET build larger web applications, but if you need to take care of every single detail in your website (The traditional way), you would prefer the old ASP.

I, myself, use ASP more than ASP.NET.

Enjoy ;)

The question is a bit confused.

Pick a programming language -- C#, VB.NET or J# -- and learn how to program ASP.NET in that language. I would learn how to program ASP.NET in C#, but VB.NET tends to be easier to learn.

One you understand ASP.NET, you'll understand enough about ADO.NET to get by.

It's better to learn ASP.NET with ADO.NET as it Object oriented and requires less development time.

ADO.NET comes with very rich data access library.
