Appearance and intelligence have absolutely nothing to do with one another, but many, if not most, people find intelligence to be a highly attractive quality.

I personally think intelligence is beauty, but don't have a blind eye to the common image of beauty.

Typically, no, beautiful people aren't intelligent. This is due to mainly that they don't need intelligence to succeed in their life, just their looks, so they drop studying and gaining a better brain and just coast along on their looks. However this isn't a 100%, just a general idea, I'm sure there's beautiful and intelligent people, though they're a rare meeting.

Beauty has nothing to do with intelligence. Beautiful people are however healthier, from a genetic standpoint - generally speaking. Research backs this up. Beauty is not simply a cultural construct. Even newborn babies, who cannot have possibly been subjected to cultural 'brainwashing' with respect to what is considered beautiful, respond more favorably to pictures of people considered beautiful.

And this extends across cultural lines. Meaning, no matter the nationality/ethnicity of the baby or the person in the picture, the response is consistently more favorable when presented with a picture of a beautiful person. And those who are beautiful have been found to be genetically healthier than those who are less beautiful.

No no no! They may be perceived as more intelligent or more credible but that is because people are "taken" with their looks.
Not to say a beautiful person can't be intelligent (because it's certainly not true) but looks and intelligence are separate traits, independent of one another.

No, dont think so. But beautiful people definitely get better shots at being intelligent.. they get more opportunities. Must say also that intelligent people are not beautiful but make themselves captivating in their own unique way.

Well there is some psychological truth to it. Beautiful people, in reality, are not more intelligent than anyone else. People tend to attribute qualities such as intelligence to others they see as beautiful. We talked about this breifly in the last personality class I took.

Sadly there is some truth to this idea. It isn't because beautiful people are born more intelligent. It's because the people around them are more motivated to create an atmosphere of advantages; learning, experiences, friends, comfort, etc. People throughout their lives have been more attentive to beautiful people and have prepared them better.

On the other side of the coin, some beautiful people learned early on that they can glide through life on their looks. Somebody forgot to tell them that when we are old, we all look old.

No, but intelligent people are beautiful!

I think so --on the average-- because people tend to pick the more beautiful as mates, and also tend to pick the more intelligent -- so that those characteristics tend to be passed on to their progeny. Certainly, there are many exceptions.
