why are so many African-Americans so bitter about slavery? It didn't happen only to them. Mayans, Incas,Egypt, Greece, Rome, Africa, Europe, they all favor slavery.

The word slave is a derivative of the word Slav, or a person from the northern regions of Europe. Romans had German, Polish, etc slaves long before African ones. Some attorney figured out he could make money suing over the issues. Merry Christmas.

althouhg slavery was abolished in the late 1800s we still had segregation until the 60s when most of our grandparents and great grandparents were alive. Although slavery did happen all over, it was by far one of the worst cases in america. You are saying why no learn about those who are oppressed as well as those who are doing the opressing correct? so why can't those who are not african-american, learn about why some african americans feel that way

I can't believe that this is a widespread feeling. Those who are upset by US slavery, which was abolished over 140 years ago, are looking for something to make them upset. I think that they should focus more on the way things are now and strive to make things better in the future and not dwell on the past.

They might not be thinking how it happened to others. I know what u mean it happened to the Jews and the Jehovah's Witnesses just 2 name a few!
