For web design? About a million. J/k, but really there are a lot. PHP, HTML, Perl, Java, JavaScript are some popular ones, but there are many more, and each has it's own use. This forum has a lot of info and helpful people on it that can help you out with different kinds of coding and figuring things out about them.

This is not a question that can really be answered. Programming languages are like opinions, everybody has one. Languages start with the very old and almost obsolete ( I would name a couple but someone's probably using them) through to the latest object oriented languages.
Some just to name a few are
BINARY
SHELL SCRIPTING
COBOL
FORTRAN
PASCAL
BASIC
RPG
PERL
C
C+
C++
C#
Visual C
Visual Basic
Java
...and the list can go on for a very long time....
If you go beyond primary languages into application specific languages (which allow a less technical user to build application using preprogrammed procedures) you get a whole new list of languages.
