I got an email today from my mom about putting your PIN number in backwards at the ATM if you're being robbed. Supposedly, the police are notified and sent to help you. Anyone know anything about this?
I get sick of telling my mom that all these emails are junk and she shouldn't believe them. Hard evidence that she's gullible would be nice.

Yes this is an urban legend you can find more info on snopes.com. Just think about it what if your pin # was for example: 4114 ....it is the same both ways. It would never work...try it!
Here's a way to teach your mom a lesson:
Go to a very rough neighborhood bank at night and entice someone to rob you at the ATM ...perhaps yell "I am going to make a large withdraw and I hope no crazy crack addict wants to rob me because I would be utterly helpless" Little does the crazed robber know, your mother gave you a life saving tip...the "backward pin" escape plan. The police never show up...you are robbed and left bruised and broke. Then maybe your mom would be overwhelmed with guilt for perpetuating this urban legend that she would learn her lesson!! :)

Reverse Phone Number Look Up Services

The best reverse cell phone lookup service that I have tried is http://reversephone.toptips.org

From using a reverse cell phone lookup you will be able to get the callers name and address just
by typing the phone numbers they will tell you the details related to the number.
The reverse cell phone lookup service has your details available they will give you the cell phones location. For a full report including a name and address and other interesting informations you will have to pay.
Enter the number in the system and they will tell you a lot of informations about the phone number and the person who owns it.
If they have extra details you will have to pay for the report.
Free reverse phone lookup sites generally provide the most basic of information such as name and it works only for landlines. To get further information, money will have to be paid. The free searches do not provide much more than what can be found through the phone book.
This service is great, I used it a lot f time with great results: I always obtained what I was searching for.
I definitely reccomend this service.

Not true, simple way to prove it, go to an atm and try it, you have 3 chances before it eats your card, and if the rozzers turn up, say you thought you were being robbed! (might be a while before they do though)
