A rectangle has 90 degree angles on all 4 corners and an oblong... hmmm... i dont know the difference, now you ask! Gonna bug me, so wait, and I'll try to get an answer...
EDIT: OK, basically, this is what I managed to come up with...
squares: equal-sided rectangles
oblongs: non-equal-sided rectangles
But oblongs can be rectangles
Here's some dull reading for you. See Appendix A (as a cure to insomnia!!)

An oblong is a 4 sided figure where the 2 of the opposite sides are longer than the 2 other sides. A rectangle is the same only the four corners are "Right Angles" . Therefore a rectangle is an oblong but an oblong is not neccessarily a rectangle!!!

A oblong is a rectangle with different width and height.
Example:
a square is a rectangle but not an oblong.
Every oblong is a rectangle, but not every rectangle is an oblong (ex: a square).
A rectangle is always an oblong or a square.

The word rectangle is a noun, the word "oblong" is an adjective. For example, "A rectangle is an oblong figure".
Addendum: For those confused in here, the word "oblong" is not a term used in mathematics. It's easy to confuse the word "oblong" with the word "oblate", which is a term in mathematics. Read carefully Im2_weird's link to the Wikipedia article about rectanges.

Oblong two long sides and two short sides and four right angles. Rectangle four sided fugure with four right angles.
Definition taken form Collins English Dictionary.
Confused.
Well rectangle sounds more scientific, whereas oblong sounds more user friendly.
Cheeky question... nice one!

2 x 2 x 4 = Rectangle. 2 x 2 x any other length = Oblong
3 x 3 x 6 = Rectangle. 3 x 3 x any other length = Oblong
That ith my theory.

If I recall my reading of Euclid (seriously! I once read Euclid!), an oblong is a rectangle that is not square. In other words, a rectangle has four right angles; a square has that, AND four equal sides, and an oblong has four right angles, but NOT four equal sides.
Don't take my word for it, though.[1]

Oblong has rounded edges like a mix between a rectangle and an oval.
