Since when does freedom of religion equate to denying students the right to practice whatever religion they choose to believe in? Prayer IS allowed everywhere, and aside from disrupting class, praying aloud should be perfectly acceptable.

1. It can't be led over the P.A. system as that would be an endorsement by the government (which runs the school) by a specific religious group.

2. It can't disturb class, like an audible prayer during an exam. (Even seminaries obey this rule. It's one thing to pray. It's another thing to break someone's concentration during the exam.)

3. But if you're in the hallways - I'm pretty sure the First Amendment covers you.

I say yes...if some1 does not want to pray then they don't have to and plus no1 knows if your praying of who your praying to if u just put your heard down, close your eyes or whatever. It shouldn't be mandatory but it should be optional. Like just have a "moment of silence" of about 5 min to recollect ones self, whether it is a silent pep talk or thinking about whats for lunch or a prayer no1 knows. I'm not a religious person and have no affiliation with any denomination.. although i attend a private catholic university. So separation of church and state don't apply to me.

Yes it should be, how can they stop prayer anyway. They tried that while I was in high school and we prayed anyway. They did nothing to us, even when they made it against the rules and regulations of the school

No one can stop you from praying silently

if kids want to pray silently to themselves, it would be wrong to tell them they're not allowed to do that.. teachers in public schools shouldn't be leading kids in prayer though..

hey! it doesn't matter.. most imortant is that the prayer is coming from your heart and not just words that you made up in your head!

I think it should be silent, not aloud.
