Just going across country with a one year old by yourself is craxy enough! To do it while you are also pregnant would be insane! It is probably safe to fly, but why would you want to put yourself through such stress in such a delicate time in your life? Going anywhere with children is tough, and going anywhere while 30 weeks pregnant is tough too...why combine them??
If you can get someone to go with you that would be best. When you get to your destination...will there be others there to help you or are you taking this trip completely alone? If you are going to see family or friends that can help you with your one year old after you arrive...that might not be so bad.
Good luck and Congrats on the pregnancy!

Yes....it's pretty crazy....Have you ever flown with a baby? Flying by yourself is a real hassle....add a one year old and you are spelling disaster....way too much stuff to carry!!!
I'm amused by the comments I see....Obviously people haven't flown lately. It's not the being pregnant part, although 30 weeks, I would check with my doctor first.....it's taking the one year old....It is a bit rough to manoeuvre the airport and security with a 1 year old and the restrictions on food/water etc these days make it even tougher....and while we are talking about restrictions on water....it's important not to get dehydrated, especially at 30 weeks and that is easy to happen while travelling via air these days....

No, it isn't crazy and it surprises me to see how many people still think pregnancy makes a woman fragile. As long as you prepare as soon as possible and the pregnancy is going well, there is little danger in travelling. I suggest stopping by the airport you'll be leaving early on to get up-to-date suggestions on making travel with children easier. The big thing I recommend is buying a seperate seat for the older child, even with short flights and not being pregnant, holding a child is tiring. Many (possibly most) car seats are certified to go in a plane.
It's great if someone can go with you, but it's fully possible for you to be fine on your own. As for medical emergencies, ask your doctor to make a summary sheet or just give you a copy of your medical records. Then put that with your carry-on info.

Ahh. First I MISS FL! I am jealous... Flying with a dog will probably not be a lot of fun. You will probably have a layover right? If you do I kinda think it is too much for you. If you have a direct flight I would say you will be OK. Ask for help with the carrier and all of your stuff. Someone will have pity on you I would think. The layover thing would be hard though. Keep that in mind. You need to eat and need to move around a lot. That is not a short flight and you have to keep your legs moving. Having to haul the dog every time you need to get up will not be fun. Your husband should take the dog in the uhaul with him! Only makes sense to me, Good luck hun.

Your doctor is the only one that can really tell you that. I know I haven't been able to fly at all pregnant with either child because of my bloodpressure. Also, a lot of airlines won't allow you to fly after a certain point in the pregnancy. I would contact the airline to be sure. Also, a one year old child can be quite a handful. Only you know if you are up for it. Good luck.

the hard part is the luggage, If you have no additional hands that is hard. !!!!
what does your doc say, typically they dont like you traveling last trimester because if something happens, your med. info, and doc who seen you will not be there if you need med attention
I just wanted to add I did it at 4 months, and my dd was sleeping,at 3 in the morning. I was on train had to do all my luggage, and by the grace of god a woman with nothing in her hands said your pregnant let me help you., and she took all my bags for me, funny thing is I never seen that woman on the train the whole time, angels!

I wouldn't do it. I went to see my in laws when I was around 31 weeks with a one year old by myself. I will never do it again. Plus then you have doctors saying that it isn't a good idea.

Go to your doctor and ask if it would be okay. It should be easy for you but you have to make sure you don't stress yourself out too much. Would your one year old be okay on the plane? I think you should be fine, just make sure you talk to your doctor first.

depends on doc's ok and your 1 yr old. is he/she easy going and easy to manage or a rambunctious one?
If you can handle it & doctor approves, go for it.
