I had to check on his nmae, becuase he was a semi regular the first season. It was Commander Ted Lindsey (isn't imdb.com great?) He killed Singer (she said the baby was his and it wasn't. She originally was thought to have disappeared to meet up with the father. Also blames was Harm's half brother)and framed Harm (convenience)

I wasn't able to find an answer to who killed her when she played Diane but it was during the first season episode 22 called Skeleton Crew if that helps you find more information.

It was that creepy prosecutor who didn't like Rab that did it...
Husband says yes, he was the guy that killed her...she was pregnant with his child as they had been having an affair. He was balding/thin haired and wore glasses....he was quite a bit older than her too.

supsicion fell on Harmon Raab, but he was later cleared. Her murder was used as the piolot spinoff for NCIS.
I believe they thought she died of natural causes.
