I'm sure he used to live at the North Pole, but he now seems to have moved to Lapland. When did that happen?

I preferred it being the North Pole.

I think that when everyone knew that he lived in the North Pole he decided to move to get a little more privacy and to stay undercover.

I work with Santa and I asked him that very Question, he says that he does come from the North pole, but to make him appear more logical, he lives in Lapland (it is one of the most northern islands, is what he said) and because there is reindeer there. Its just an excuse because people can 't believe that he is magic and he does in fact still live at the north pole!!!

Your wrong on both counts. St Nicholas, Santa Clause was born in the Turkish town of Myra in the early 4th century, he later became the Bishop of the town & became famous for giving sweets & small gifts to children. Later in his life he moved to an island off the Turkish coast near a town called Fethiye & the island is now called St Nicholas Island

He moved a while ago. there were a few reasons but the main ones where;
1 mrs claus had an affair with jack frost
2 the landlord put his rent up
3 he didn't pay the elves and did a moonlight flit to avoid them
4 he owes the tax man millions for back taxes

Father Yule is a pre-Christian Laplandic tradition. In fact, very little about "Christmas" is Christian at all.

I think it was because of global warming.....the icecaps are melting .....so Santa has had to move to terra firma. Plus lots of Reindeer in Lapland.
