I always recommend having a very varied diet, especially when it comes to bearded dragons. If they take the canned crickets that should be fine, as long as they are getting a full compliment of other foods including their veggies as well as a little fruit. They also need the live stuff to interact with.

Yes they can. Just remember that "fresh" food is always preferred. First off, fresh/live food is always best because it isn't processed or loaded with any fillers. Make sure your Bearded Dragon gets plenty of natural sunlight. Vitalites are okay, but natural is always better. Feed your beardie a large variety of live foods. Remember in the wild they eat a variety of plant and animal matter. Don't let the Petsmart attitude get to you. Don't think that because it is sold at Petsmart it is good for your pet. Remember Bearded Dragons have been around a lot longer than Petsmart. Don't let some 16 year old "reptile expert" tell you how to raise your reptiles.

if your going to actually proceed with keeping any bearded dragon or reptile, you need to follow certain guidelines. first, they are not interested in dead prey, movement stimulates thir feeding response, so yes they have to be alive, second the cooking process leeches out all the nutrients. you cant take shortcuts with beardies or reptiles. they have certain things they need or need to be avoided, for instance, they require a basking spot of 100-105 degrees measured with a digital thermometer, acess to within 6'' of a uv bulb of at least 8%, and access to fresh dark leafy greens, and all particulate substrates need to be avoided. caring for them is hard but rewarding, and dont trust petkill for advice on reptiles. follow these and other guidelines for a happy healthy dragon

personally my beardie only eats things that move.. anything that doesnt move he wont eat... besides vegetables... if you feed them live.. you can get cricket nutriant enhancer which enhances the nutrients of the cricket to make your beardie more healthy! Good luck and have fun! they love attention!
