Hi
2003 E-320. When I push on the brakes, I can feel vibration sometimes. Do you know what the problem could be? Thanks.

The vibration is on the pedal

Just replaced the rotors and pads in the front. Still vibrating. Could it be the ABS system.

If you feel the vibe through your hands on the steering wheel your front rotors need to be machined. If you feel it trough your butt the rear drums or rotors whichever you have need to be machined. The running surface of the rotors or drums have become uneven and a pulsing feeling will feed back through the braking system. If its not to bad its not a big deal and could possible wait til the next brake job you get. If its a big vibe you such have the rotors or drum machined very soon.

BRAKE not break.

Vibration while braking = warped rotor. No question.

You ran over a huge puddle of water after heavy braking down the hill or something, when the rotor was red hot. It happens.

Just replace it - don't even have it machined. It will return after some time with a machined rotor. While you are at it, replace the brake pads too whether it needs or not.

You will thank yourself for it. It will run smooth as silk.

Your rotors are warped.

See if the dealer will replace under warranty. Otherwise, have them replaced. Most places are going to offer turning or truing them, but removing metal from the rotor is only going to ensure that the problem will return.

Your rotors warped due to heat. The more metal you have in a rotor, the better it dissipates heat. Take away metal by turning or truing the rotor, and there is less metal to dissipate heat, and warping will return.

My guess is you drive your car hard. Consider upgrading to performance brake pads and slotted or drilled and slotted rotors.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

It sounds like you got debris on your brake rotor or it has become warped due to excessive heavy braking. Have the rotors turned by your local auto parts store, replace your pads while your at it. no need in wasting a good opportunity to inspect and replace your pads.

If the pulsation is consistent, you have a bad rotor somewhere.

If it only happens when you brake hard, that's the anti-lock brake mechanism pulsing the calipers.

It could be the tires. try to rotate them, it could also be the rims, the rotors may need to be resurfaced or could be u need calipers, if the brakes were not installed correctly it can cause you problems. First try to resurface the rotors if that doesn't work then try to rotate the tires. if that doesn't work then take it to a specialist who can find the problem for you.

Could possibly be the lower control arm bushings. Check all suspension parts and ball joints.
