Since Clinique is a designer brand I think the prices are pretty much set...but you might try bizrate.com (it compiles a list of online retailers of the product and how much they cost)

You can ask the beauty consultants at the Clinique counter for some free samples, they're usually really generous. My mum done this once when she was buying some make up and they gave her loads of things. It's cheeky but worth a try!

i don't know where you can get it cheaper, but once or twice a year they have "free gifts" if you spend $25. i went to buy some lotion and got 2 a free compact thing with 2 eye shadows and blush, a tube with face soap, lipstick with its little lipstick case, mascara, and a make up bag... =] i say thats pretty good :] hah hope that helps =]

you can find knock offs on ebay, but since you are a collector, dont sleep on macys. they have gift sets that go around $30 and it comes with eyeshadow, masacara lipstick and all those goodies, that is a great wat to start. or try gloss.com they sometimes have sales
