The fear mongering has to be stopped. The people in power have to stop creating fear in order to make themselves seem like big important protectors.

Get the leaders to say illegal immigrants aren't the problem, blacks aren't the problem, women aren't the problem, muslims aren't the problem, gays aren't the problem. Get them to address the real problems instead of insighting fear.

You can recognise difference and still have equality - in fact recognising difference is essential to equality!
Eg. We decide to make everything equal, all chairs shall be 1 metre high. Well that's fine for some people, but what about the short & tall people? They're not as comfy as those inbetween. To actually acheive equality we should go, okay, the short people need chairs X high, & the tall people need them Y, etc etc.

Equality also does not equate to boredom. It means equal rights, not identical people! You can still recognise difference, you can still have conflict, it's just everyone has an equal footing. A black person gets convicted for the same amount of time a white person would for the same crime. The rich and the poor both have adequite access to health care. A woman and a man with the same qualifications have the same opportunity at the same job. How is that boring? we would spend more time enjoying ourselves & less time worrying about why the world is so unfair!

Your question implies that equality does not exist. I think that equality is a high ideal that can not ever be achieved 100%, because people are different as individuals. The natural tendency of human beings is to classify people, we tend to place people into categories for a variety of reasons - good or bad. So really, maybe a better question is: Why do we categorize people and can that be prevented?

Inequality has been around since civilized man so I don't think we should change it now. For humans inequality is necessary. If everybody would be equal what would be there to talk about? Our life would become meaningless
and we'd get bored to death.

People are not equal, nor should they be. We all possess different motivations, work ethics, and determinations. It is not the government's job to intervene in this regard. That would be communism, and well, that hasn't worked out so well.
