She said: "Nobody can make you feel inferior without your permission." This is one of my favorite quotes. Do you agree with what she said?

I often wonder... if there's a way to help more people see the validity in her message.

Yes! I think she knew what she was talking about. She was never an attractive woman. But she never became introverted and wasn't afraid to hide her intelligence to suit anyone. Back then women were expected to be decorative and have "no head for business, issues or politics" Try telling that to a woman who secretly ran the country when her husband was too ill to do so. Have you ever read about her? She was truly a phenomenal woman.

Yes. Because to feel inferior, you have to care about someone's opinion most of the time, and some opinions are not worth caring about, particularly when they belittle or humiliate you. Also, if someone oppresses you, you should do everything in your power to stop them and to be on equal terms with them. Anyone who makes you feel inferior is really lying to you, and you are being gullible enough to think you don't have the self-worth to stop it.

Eleanor Roosevelt was a wonderful lady!

Yes, because if you don't allow yourself to feel inferior you never will. Just because someone says something doesn't mean we have to believe it (give them permission). When someone realizes that you have respect in yourself and you won't allow someone to drag you down they will try everything they can to bring you down and feel inferior.

It is true, how else would you explain how people who subscribe to infantile god concepts somehow think they are superior when the are, in fact, clearly inferior.

Yes. And that applies to all feelings. People don't make you feel a certain way, you choose to feel that way.

Yes. People can put you down all they want, but if you don't let it get to you there is nothing they can do.

Absolutely! No one can hurt you unless you let them. It's how you react to someone or something that matters - not what they say or do.
