Raiders paraphernalia is almost like colors in this area (central California). I'm aware of the fact that it is sometimes taken as gang colors by teenagers. But mostly, I suspect it is because they are a very good team in a city (Oakland) that has a large Hispanic population.
And because they win a lot of games, dork!

Most of it is cause of the the city of Oakland itself..the Bay Area is full of gangs and stuff like that. Trust me, I've lived here my entire life and if you say anything bad about the Raiders to the wrong people, you will get shot at times. The worst part is, some people who claim to be "Raiders fans" dont even care about the team, they just wear the stuff cuz they wanna rep Oakland.
