Seems to me ambission is winning out in this culture. If your in .U.K. take X factor for an example and the success of mediocre baby faced Ray. What do you think?

Talent is gives your just an edge in that specific skill. However without ambition or motivation, talent is useless and will go to waste. Being ambitious will drive people to excel in their interests but without the drive or ambition, even if you could be the best athelete, doctor, etc, unless you desire to put your talent to use, it just becomes part of your personality. Ambitious people are primarily the ones that go furthest. Talented but unambitious people wander through life. Now if you have talent AND ambition, then thats the best combination..

I think modern society requires you to have a fair amount of both to be successfull.
If you don't have any ambition, all the talent in the world isn't gonna help you much, and vice versa.
I think combining the two with a fair bit of hard work is the surest way to true success.
