2 things come to mind:

1. How much do you want to spend?
2. What type of use will the card mostly do?

If your looking to do sound work or just listening to music then the Creative Labs extreme music maybe the right one for you, but if your going to be playing games, you may want to consider the Fat8lity card by creative labs. Either way, both cards support 7.1 surround and below. For more specifications, go to creative labs website for details.

Do you've power amplified audio gadget for your pc? known un-amplified audio gadget gained't artwork with those upload on playing cards. when I outfitted a pc for the first time, the sound replaced into on board. I had un-amplified audio gadget at residing house, and they did not produce although the slightest little bit of sound, even although I had each and each and every of the volume controls "pegged out". also examine your administration panel settings and the utilizing settings that got here including your sound card to ensure if there is a few thing set to "mute" or set too low. The settings to be concered with in residing house windows administration panel are the volume, wave, and CD.
