Scan with your antivirus software. If you do not have any, download AVG, it's free!

You don't say if you have an antivirus software running in your system. If you do, download this free from AOL, Anti Virus Shield, Powered by Kaspersky Labs, out of Russia. You don't have to be a member of AOL, an it is free for life. Will resolve the problem.

You can only run one antivirus or you will have serious conflict. So either remove your current antivirus or shut it down after you have download and saved this free one. Then shut your current antivirus down an install the free AOL Anti Virus Shield. You can auto updates every hour on the hour an has a realtime scanner in the background that scans also on shutdown and boot up.

Most trojans can be removed by restarting your computer to safe mode.

While your computer is restarting, begin hitting F8 over & over until you get a black screen with the "Safe Mode" option. Once it's in safe mode, give it time to fully load and then wait another few minutes just to make sure it's done. Safe Mode runs so slow that it will throw off any trojans.

If it is a trojan try AVG or the Cleaner 4.1(free trial)
They are both trojan removers.
It is best to remove them in a safe mode and please
shut down your internet connection while doing that.
to avoid infected file replication.

Reboot and press F8 then start scanning.

Good luck,

Joe.

If you can detect it but not remove it, try going to MS support or Symantec support. These have downloads for specialized malware removal. I've used downloads from both to remove this type of thing.

Ad-Aware shows this as one of the spybots it removes. If you don't have Ad-Aware, get it here, download, install it, keep it updated and run it daily.
