I don't think it will be as successful because the entire story is based on English mythologies and landscapes. Also, check around who are the biggest movie makers apart from the U.S, Britain, Italy, France, Spain, etc. does any of these other cultures have characters like Harry Potter story .. no.

of course, why not? it would be successful but it will be translated into english if it become so successful internationally.
