Forget Littleton coin they are big, but expensive and your dime is not worth much to them. Your what is commonly called Mercury dime, unless in high mint state grades is worth 7-8 times face for it's silver.Even in mint state 63, dealer bid is only $7. 159,130,000 dimes were minted in Philadelphia alone not counting Denver (D) and San Francisco (S). In case you wondered it has .07234 oz of actual silver weight. During the war years mintage was very high on most coins.

Most coins are valued by how good are they-how rare they are and the demand for them.Check with a coin dealer-it might be worth$o.25 or $50.00.They{coins}are not always valuable just because of age.
