Most of the young Filipinos don't realize that The Philippines had the potential of being the richest and strongest country decades ago. While America was growing in strength, so was the Philippines, until Marcos and his cronies decided to steal the country's riches. Imelda as a good example of strength? Yeah right. Did anyone ever consider their extravagant living? What about her poor choices in policies, like building things to suit herself and her desires? Don't ever fool yourselves- if a country loses tens to hundreds of millions of dollars by a President, his family knew about it or was in on it, especiallly in the Philippines.
Now why do people still vote Imelda Marcos in? The people who do are uneducated and have narrow thinking. What's the saying about Marcos? "Sure he's a bastard, but he's OUR bastard."

Ferdinand Marcos became one of the best presidents in the Philippines in his first couple of terms as a president. He just became sick and age made him become a dictator. This doesn't also mean that all Marcoses are not capable of leading people. People love Amee Marcos and Bongbong because they are good leaders. Still lot of people love Imelda Marcos because she is a model of a strong woman that went through many chalenges because of the things Ferdinand did during his last terms. I am not a pro or anti-Marcos.

There is a certain saying, and it goes like this: "Against stupidity the Gods themselves contend in vain." And the longer I live, the more convinced I become that this saying hits the nail on the head. Just look at the United States. After having been treated to 4 years of George W. Bush, who came into office by having the election manipulated, they voted for him a second time.
So don't think that the Philippines are unique. No country has a monopoly on stupidity.

People have their own opinions I say...I'm not for the Marcoses and the only thing I can think of why there are still Marcoses in the government is because they took care of their own (ilokanos and samarenos) they (Marcoses) improved their local places, you should see ilokos and samar and you know what I am referring to...ilokanos are very loyal to their own kind.

Imelda Marcos was the best thing that ever happened to that country! she brought glamor, beauty, and a sense of style. she was behind metroaid, so manila was presentable to the world during her reign. she established that folk arts place. most of all, she brought Gucci, Chanel, and YSL to the filipino consciousness! and she sang with FEELINGS. Feeelllllingssss....nothing more than feelllliiinggsss...
the marcoses were dictators, true, but they made life decent for all. so how about now? how's the FX rate? how's your economy doing? when's the next coup d'etat by the way? so many people lost their lives during the dictatorship---they were probably a s s holes anyway. and you have to agree, filipinos, by nature, are unruly; they need an iron hand to rule them, otherwise, they will run amock like wild monkeys, killing each other for a cellphone. oh wait! they're doing that already!
i don't think you are better off now under that taong-lupa GMA (she's so damn ugly---no spanish blood in her system whatsover). remember ERAP?
so i say to the filipino people: IMELDA FOR PRESIDENT!!!
God bless Imelda!
ps: because of her shoes, now you have a new museum in your country! i visited that place and it was fabulous!

i agree with dwade marcos was a great leader although he abused his powers which cause martial law...but think about it...he was the only president who built the most infastructures here and also when there was marial law...our crime rate has dropped but i didn't mean that it was good...i've wasn't born yet! but if you look at it he contributed many things to us in spite of his being abusive of his power
i also agree with taipan most people didn't realize that the philippines can become rich because our our natural resources but because of our corrupt officials who kept stealing all our money( pork barrel) well...there's not much we can do....
WHY DID THEY ELECT HER??don't know...maybe it's because of her huge hair....it big and hard!! i wonder how many spray nets or gel did she use... it's a guiness record!!!
ps. san antonio...shut up okay!!! you don't know anything about the philippines so stop making such stupid remarks!!
