I think it's frustrating, at times, when people do not admit to there mistakes. But then there are times when people do not know they made a mistake. They may be so strong in their belief or just in denial.
I agree with you. As for myself, I do feel so much better when I admit my mistakes. that's the first step towards doing better next time! And don't worry about what other people do. Perhaps you might even inspire them when they realize you are so much better off when you admit to your mistakes and try to improve. They will see you getting results and them not, and maybe make the connection and decide to do something about it.
Have a good day!

It could be that they were always criticized early on and they developed an insecurity about them selves. To make a mistake would further validate the feeling of being not good enough. If this person is a friend of yours, try to let them see you make a mistake, and notice that it didn't change you from being the same wonderful person. Give them encouragement and praise whenever you can, its something they are not used to and it will make them feel better about themselves. Remind this person that a mistake is just that, something done unintentional and we all have made them many times.

Depends on the person, There is a women I see a lot and she is that way. I delight in backing her right back against the wall and making her admit that at least if she isn't "wrong" I am RIGHT. She also refers to herself by her first name. As though she had a split personality. I am able to admit it when I make a mistake. I guess my ego isn't all that fragile.

People who will not admit their mistakes are immature, self-absorbed jerks who will never change. (How can you change if you won't admit that anything is wrong?) So, I guess you could say I despise people like that. I once left a job I'd held for a long time because we got a new boss who would never admit his mistakes. It just wasn't worth dealing with him and his tantrums.

there's people who will never admit a mistake and will always find someone or something else to blame. There's also people who apologize over and over for everything, even if it's not their fault.
The healthy thing is when people can recognize, apologize, and correct a mistake, without dwelling on it or pretending it wasn't their fault.

I feel that you aren't a mature person if you don't admit your mistakes because when you make a mistake that's how you grow up.
