He is being wooed by people who think in terms of style and image rather than substance and depth. He's a political neophyte who has been hyped far beyond his actual depth.
He has no experience or anything on his resume that would support a presidential run. He has no executive experience - no experience of that type of responsibility.
This is not to say he will never be ready - but right now, he isn't. Being president is not about looks or sound bytes, but about responsibility and accountability.

I think the demos first hyped him up as a the new face of the democrats almost like a show tell figure...see here is young charismatic man...we democracts aren't all old curmudgeons etc...but then it snowballed to the point that their darling Hillary might actually be eclipsed by him they started flinging a little mud.
Sort of find it amusing that so many are saying he's inexperienced but then promote some state governor (I'm not talking Hilary she's been all over ;-) that barely make it outside their state borders except for some special interest sponsored shin ding.

He is young and energetic. He is also moderate, which some see as the only chance for an African American to become president.{ other than Powell } Since Powell is a republican and their agenda doesn't include getting an African American elected, Obama is seen as the good shot for Democrats. Unfortunately I live in the south. I know that some people don't believe they are racist, but alone in a booth they will have their doubts, even more so because he is young . I am sorry to see so much buzz here, you know in politics if you burn bright then get doused you out. Very few have made comebacks. In our day it is even harder because the media has so much memory.

Because he "looks" the part, and he appears to be pretty clean in the way of skeletons in the closet.
I actually think the guy could possibly do a good job as President. Though right now, anything looks better than what we currently have. . .
