I have this problem too . I buy my parents plane tickets and they always send them back and always tell me that i am being ridiculous and that i need to back down . My brothers and sisters tell me this . my parents do not need to drive all that way . They drive from missouri to fla. I get very upset with this . my husband tells me to back off i am being way too protective let them live their lives the way they want too. I understand i dont want them to be hurt or anyone else either. But if you have the option of buying them plane tickets i would do so . good luck and god bless and happy holidays .

Could you drive them? maybe if you make it sound like a good thing letting you drive. Tell them they could take lots of naps and offer to buy the food. Make sure you listen when they need a bathroom break. Thats at least what i would do.

My best friend has this problem. His parents drive from Colorado to Missouri (about 13 hours). He and his sister has bought them a plane ticket instead and will meet them at the airport. Can you do anything like that?

Try to get someone responsible to go with them to help them drive and keep them company along the way. Dont tell them to their face that they cant drive well, ask a good friend to ask them if they mind if they come along.

Tell them that you and your husband or friend want to see Florida, and offer to drive with them. Then fly back.
