I have been working as an administration assistant for my local council for the last 5 years. I now want to further my career in administration by possibly further studies and taking appropriate exams etc. I am also prepared to change my employer in order to advance my career in administration.

i do, and until now i have been lucky in getting really nice people to work with.
unfortunately, i told my manager she was not a nice person. since i got back from my time off she has been trying to move me out of the office, but she cannot do this without good reason. she now will not talk to me, but i can't be bothered to either.
we only speak to each other with regards to work.

This is the best field to be in coz you get to work in all fields and thus this creates n number of possibilities, see what u are most interested example accounting, secretarial or PR etc and then choose a course accordingly. All the best!

Been working in admin for four years now. You can't advance in admin short of becomming a supervisor or manager, you can only move sideways.
