My house takes ages and ages to get warm even with a new central heating system ( 3 bed semi). Any ideas why.

set your timer to 2 hours b4 you get up and 1 hour b4 your due home. have you got double glazing u loose a lot of hear through single glazed. plus cavity fill helps heat loss through walls and loft insulation.you can get government grants for insulation. make sure your front and back doors are draught proofed to.

A heating system is designed to bring the temperature of a room from zero to operating tmperature in one hour, Any quicker and your boiler has beem oversized and will be burning to much gas to be economical.

Call the repair man that installed it and ask him.If it is brand new it shouldn't cost you anything ,it should be covered under a warranty.Put your hand by the vent , it should blow really warm air.If it does don't call the repair man .Then you should put up thick curtains on the windows..

Windows, single radiators, cavity wall insulation. Sounds like you are still having problems with your house.

What kind of windows do you have? Do you have high ceilings?

I would contact whoever installed your heating system and ask them.

There may be a draught coming under the front or back doors.

Could be not enough insulation,or not the right system for your purposes.
