Can I just ask - why are there always questions on here saying that people are buying umbilical cords to insert into their uterus until a new one grows to feed the baby (I won't even go into reasons why this is utterly rediculous)?? This is absolute nonsense and really pisses me off that anyone could be so stupid. The only thing I can think of is it's some sort of 'urban myth' doing the rounds at school and people are curious. I can't believe how many times I have read it!! Does anyone know where it's originated from?

They are just getting attention.... It is not true, not an urban myth, just silly people with way too much time on their hands... They come up with huge stories on why this is happening, little girls trying to insert them, people stealing them, just stuff.... It is not true, but crazy questions recieve more replies than most serious questions.... Go figure....

Maybe from the fact that umbilical cords can be saved and stored. The intent is to have the stem cells in them avalible for the child if they need certain medical procedures later in life, but if some idiot got ahold the idea and didn't know what it was for that's the kind of thing that might be thought of.
