No and it's not officially recognized in the Catholic Church either. It's concidered to have been associated with the Pagans, therefore it is frowned upon by the Catholic Church, even though many Latin Americans do tend to practice this ritual.
I have never done so, nor have I ever felt the urge to do so. Pagan or Catholic, I was brought up knowing both traditions.
