80gb-
80 gigabytes of hard drive space
also check for the RPM speed the higher the better but tas it increases there is also increase in heat and sound a 5400rpm drive will be sufficient as it is the sweet spot

1.83ghz-
it is the clock speed of ur laptop the higher the clock speed the better i say lol
also check weather it is pentium m,or core solo or core duo or core 2 duo with the last being te latest there are also amd models with amd64X2 as the latest

2gb--
2 gigabyte this stands for te amount of ram or random access memory availabale 2 gb is more than enough in my opinion as anything more than this is just insane

njoi ur lappy

Hello,

OK! these are technical terms that describe the laptops features (like a car has engine size, a petrol tank with some many litres, etc. Its the same with computers).

**The 80GB is probably the storage capacity of the machines hard disk drive.

**The 1.83 Ghz is how fast the central processor runs, how quickly it can process instructions from the rest of the machine. The 1.83Ghz is CPU's clock speed & is just like engine size, so the faster in Ghz the quicker the chip processes instructions you give it.

**The 2GB might? relate to the amount of memory (working memory) the machine has. But unless I'm very out of date 2GB is a huge amount of memory for a laptop. Most laptops I've seen advertised normally come with 512K or may be 1GB (but 2GB I've never seen on a laptop, so you might need to make sure this is talking about memory?).

Its Vital you know ALL the technical terms for the machines parts before you hand over any money, otherwise you wont fully understand what your buying.

**Its like saying this car comes complete with a catalytic converter, you need to know what a catalytic converter is and what it does. i.e. why you need one or what the benefits are, etc.

80GB 4,200rpm to 5,400 rpm (the storage space on the laptop HD)
2 GB (the amount available to work with, the more you have the more programs you can open up)

1.83 Ghz (the cpu...the brain of the machine)

BUT WAIT !!!

theres different types of CPU

is it a Celeron 1.83Ghz (the worst).......Pentium M (better).....or a Centrino (even better for battery and wireless)......or Core Duo (the best)......

Then theres the Cache which is high speed ram build on the processor usually 1mb or 2mb....and the FSB the faster the better your Ram communicates with the CPU

In very very simple terms:

80GB is the amount of stuff you can store on it.

1.83GHz is the speed it will go at.

2GB is the amount of things you can be doing at the same time without it grinding to a halt.

The higher any of those numbers are, the better.

However, the one you describe will almost certainly do everything you want, and last you a long time. Happy computing :-)

Your laptop has a 80GB hardriver (memory storage). It's speed it a 1.83Ghz (this is okay). The 2GB is your RAM.

It's a good laptop.

the hard drive is 80GB(giga byte),the CPU (processor) speed is 1.83Ghz and the RAM size is 2GB

It has an 80 Gigabyte hard drive, a 1.83 Gigahertz processor (CPU) and 2 Gigabytes of RAM (physical memory).

it means its a standard laptop which will need updating soon.
memory is ok 80gb, processer you need more so when new softwear comes out it wont slow down your computer, try to get AMD because its better then intel, 2gb ram is good.

80 GB REPRESENTS DATA STORAGE CAPACITY OF HARD DISK DRIVE,
1.83 GHz REPRESENDS THE CLOCK SPEED OF YOUR PROCESSOR, AND
2 GB REPRESENTS SIZE OF MEMEORY YOUR RAM IS.
