my computer does not reconize the cd. . .

It could be a bad CD, or your drive might be bad. If other CDs work fine, it's probably that CD that is bad.

first check the external light on the cd blings, if not then u must do the flwg things:
check the connection (wire connection) b/w cd driver with the MOB
then check the connection b/w the cd driver with the ups..
after that restart ur pc. still u find no improvement then check for virus in ur pc.
still u have prob then ur cd driver is bad

The simplest answer is that you need a cleaning disc. They are very simple to operate. You can purchase one at any store that deals in computer equipment. I suppose you must have tested the drive with a different CD.
